Our mission is to empower science teachers to advocate for excellence in science teaching and learning.

Susan German

Her duties at DESE include assisting K-12 science educators across the state, developing large-scale state science assessments, and coordinating the implementation of programs such as the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST).

Susan's education includes BS- Ed in Science Education, a BA in Chemistry, a Master in Science Education, and an Educational Specialist in Educational Technology emphasizing Learning Systems Design and Development. Her current interests are in using microcontrollers in the science classroom, and she is a doctoral candidate in the School of Information Science and Learning Technologies at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
