Missouri Developing Excellent Leaders in Science (MoDELS)

Are you a K-16 teacher interested in low cost professional development around best practices and current topics in science instruction? STOM is offering the MoDELS program throughout the 2022-2023 school year.

The 2021-2022 series engaged participants in equity in science education, working with ELLs, growing in a digital world, children's literature, and engineering among other topics. Nationally recognized presenters included Dr. Christina Royce, Betsy O'Day, Alicia Connerly, and Ted Willard.

  • Who can participate?
    • MoDELS is open to all Missouri educators. STOM members receive discounted enrollment fees of 50% off or more.
  • When/where is MoDELS offered?
    • Join us for virtual sessions on Saturdays and weekday evenings
    • Begins early 2023
  • What topics will be presented?
    • Topics will be presented by a variety of nationally-recognized speakers with expertise in numerous domains of science. To be announced Winter 2022/2023
  • Do I have to attend all sessions?
    • No. Participants may choose to join any number of sessions. STOM members and non-members are offered a discounted rate to enroll in all sessions. STOM members are also offered further reduced rates for enrolling with a small group of other participants.
  • How do I enroll in MoDELS?
