Missouri Regional Science Bowl

13 Dec 2019 10:13 AM | Julie Casey (Administrator)

This will be the 8th year that Missouri middle school students have a qualifying competition with the winning team receiving an all-expenses paid trip to compete in at the National Science Bowl sponsored by the United States Department of Energy and hosted in Washington D.C.

Here is the link to register teams:  https://science.osti.gov/wdts/nsb/Regional-Competitions/Middle-School-Regionals.  Registration is $30 per team (4 or 5 students) and include everything for the competition, a shirt, meal, invite to the practice scrimmage and all the activities we have on the competition day.

  • This year we are launching two new programs to help coaches defray costs and prepare the students for the competition.  The first program is the Buzzer Kit Lending which allows a registered team to check out our competition grade buzzer kits for practice or local scrimmages.  More details on this program is attached.
  • Our second program is the Travel Reimbursement program which helps offset costs for teams traveling more than 2 hours to the competition on February 22nd.  More details on this program is attached.
  • This year's Missouri Middle School Science Bowl will be held on Saturday, February 22nd, 2020 at Washington University.
  • For teams that are registered by January 3rd, you will be invited to the Scrimmage event that will be held in the evening on Thursday, January 23rd, 2020 at the Bayer Crop Science's campus (formerly Monsanto headquarters).
