Provide Feedback to the State School Board The Missouri State School Board is seeking your feedback on the proposed standards. This is important! Past surveys have been for the workgroups. This is the last survey and this one is for the School Board so please voice your opinion. STOM has worked with several groups to study the proposed standards. STOM is encouraging science teachers to make the following comments on the survey: Survey Window Open Through December 2! CLICK HERE FOR STATE SURVEYElementary: The proposed elementary standards are certainly better than the current/past science GLEs. However, the standards seem disjointed. Some of the standards lack learning progressions, 3-Dimensional Learning, and rigorous DOK levels. STOM suggests that the elementary standards be revised to align with the rigor and 3-Dimensional format of the secondary proposed standards. STOM also suggest that the elementary learning progressions be further developed to provide grade-level-cognitively-appropriate support for the secondary proposed standards. Secondary: STOM recommends adopting the proposed secondary standards. These standards provide 3-Dimensional Learning, high DOK levels, and follows a clear learning progression. |
