James Puckett, Ph.D.
James (Jim) Puckett, a retired high school chemistry, mathematics, and physics teacher, received his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Missouri-Rolla, and both a M.Ed. and a Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction – Science Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia. In addition to teaching at the high school level, Jim has taught General Chemistry at the University of Missouri-Columbia, Missouri State University (while serving as the Director of MSU’s Missouri Virtual School), and Missouri Western State University (while serving as MWSU’s Chemistry Dual-Credit Coordinator) as well as Dual-Credit Chemistry through the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Jim is currently a member of NSTA’s Development Advisory Board, has previously served on NSTA’s Awards & Recognition Committee (twice), served twice as the NSTA District XI Director (KS, MO, and NE), and has served on various NSTA Kansas City and St. Louis Conference Committees. Previously, Jim has served as STOM Board Advisor, Corresponding Secretary (membership chair), and as President.
