Informal Director II
David’s career spans more than three decades teaching natural sciences including facets of botany, zoology, ecology, earth science, astronomy, and physics, for a variety of public and private organizations and institutions. Organizations he has worked for include the National Audubon Society, The Catalina Island Marine Institute, The Desert Sun Science Center, and the Missouri Botanical Garden. In his current position with the Missouri Department of Conservation, David works primarily with teachers of every grade level to facilitate their successful implementation of Discover Nature programs including a series of life science units. His teaching approach emphasizes facilitating immersive learning experiences.
David brings unique perspectives on science teaching and learning gained through a wide range of professional experiences. As a STOM Board member, David hopes to support and enhance the ability for teachers to cultivate a love for science in their students.
David holds an M.A. Degree in Environmental Studies with an emphasis in education from Montclair State University in New Jersey.
