Christina Hughes, Ed.D.
Christina Hughes is the K-5 Curriculum Coordinator for the Hazelwood School District in North County St. Louis. Christina's mission and passion has always been to increase access and opportunity for students to engage in quality science instruction. Christina current role in STOM is the middle level director. Prior to her job as a curriculum coordinator, she spent over 10 years as a high school biology teacher. She has also taught AP Biology, chemistry and PLTW Biomedical sciences courses. Christina received her doctorate in STEM Educational Practices from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She also serves as an adjunct instruction in Educational Technology with UMSL. Christina regularly presents at state and local conferences and specializes in developing instructional models to help students and teachers "see" and understand science conceptually.
